What is hypnotherapy?

Clinical hypnotherapy is a safe, evidence-informed approach that uses guided relaxation and focused attention to help you access a calm, receptive state of mind.

 

Unlike stage hypnosis, it is a gentle and collaborative process — you remain fully aware and in control at all times. In this relaxed state, we work with the subconscious mind, where habits, emotional responses, and beliefs are stored, allowing space for meaningful and lasting change.

By using carefully chosen language, imagery, and suggestion, hypnotherapy can help reframe unhelpful patterns, release emotional blocks, and build healthier ways of thinking and feeling. Many clients find sessions deeply relaxing and leave feeling calm, clear, and empowered to move forward.

How does it work?

Hypnotic suggestion bypasses the conscious minds natural resistance to change. Receiving positive suggestion in this relaxed state reprograms the subconscious mind to permanently effect the positive changes the person desires.

 

This positive suggestion re-trains a person’s subconscious belief system and allows them to overcome habits, phobias and other unwanted behaviours and negative tendencies providing the opportunity to change and grow.

 

This enables the person to take steps towards the life they consciously want to be living.

What is hypnotherapy?

Every hypnotherapy experience is unique to the individual. Whether your session is held in person or via Zoom, you’ll be supported in a calm, comfortable environment with gentle background music to help you unwind. Through the sound of my voice, you’ll be guided into a level of relaxation that feels natural and right for you.

Throughout the entire process, you remain in control. Most people experience a sense of deep relaxation, perhaps noticing feelings of lightness or heaviness in the body, a pleasant sleepiness, or a gentle floating sensation. Whatever you feel is perfectly normal and completely individual to you.

While techniques may vary, the process itself is simple — you’ll be guided into a relaxed state using my voice as your anchor. Hypnotherapy is a safe, soothing, and deeply restorative experience designed to help you create meaningful change.

Zoom hypnotherapy

Online hypnotherapy via Zoom is just as effective as in-person sessions, allowing you to access a deeply relaxed, focused state from the comfort of your own space. Being in a familiar environment often helps clients feel even more at ease, which can enhance the therapeutic process.

 

Without the need to travel, you save time, reduce stress, and can fit sessions more easily into your schedule. Online appointments are especially supportive for those experiencing anxiety, confidence challenges, or difficulty leaving home. It’s a convenient, flexible, and accessible way to receive professional hypnotherapy without compromising on results.
